Another moment..

I love spotting the moments.  Sometimes they are big moments and sometimes they are small (like this one)..  This is my favourite moment of last week.


Ate Rachelle [name changed] is a regular at street church.  I think she is a manicurist/masseuse in the park.  About two months ago, she discovered some lumps in her breast.  We prayed for her, and encouraged her to see a doctor, but she had given up, and wouldn't go to the hospital.  Last year she had a similar problem, and was miraculously healed; but this time, there was no hope in her heart.  In the last 2 months, she has come to street church on and off..  we see her occasionally, but are always praying for her.  Her friends have been very concerned for her.


Two weeks ago, she came up to me, and said she had decided to see a doctor!  This was so exciting!  There was a squidgeon of hope in her heart!  So she got an ultrasound, and later in the week went for a follow-up appointment.


Last Wednesday, she came up to talk to me at street church.  She shared the events of her week..  Now she was the one excited!  Of the seven original cysts, five had completely gone.   She had spent all her money on doctors and medicine, but someone had given her a small amount of rice.  Another day someone gave her a day's work, and with her meagre wages she was able to buy a kilo of rice, a quarter of a kilo of chicken and a few beans.  Another day someone gave her a little more food.  God was healing her, and providing for her.


But for me, the best part was the change inside her.  This lady had given up on life, but here she was, full of Life!  And Hope!  And so excited by God's hand in her life.  She just kept telling me what God had done (hence why I know exactly what she bought at the market).
